Recorded TV fails to burn to DVD - receive error message

I used to burn DVDs from Turner Classic Movies (TCM) without any problem. Now they seem to be burning fine up to 60-90% and then I get an error message - an error occurred in creating dvd

    I have MCE 2005

Any ideas of how to correct?

I have gotten errors like that in the past and my issue turned out to be disk space on the system drive (the same drive windows is installed on).  Make sure you have AT LEAST 8 GB of space free to do the burn (more if dual-layer).  Windows is creating an image of the DVD to burn, and it takes up the same amount of disk space as the disk itself would if you copied it to your hard drive.  Note that this is MORE than the movie itself would take.

Thanks for the quick response. My c-drive indicates I have approx 130 GB.

When I attempt to burn a DVD it goes normally until the dvd is ejected (I anticipate successful completion) but I get the error message. This has been a problem for some time, months in fact. Oddly enough I was successful once, during this period, in burning one DVD.

I don't know if this means anything but I try to use the susposedly still blank disc again and I get another error message but it says use a properly formatted disc. In other words, the process rendered the blank disc useless.
